Poopy Snow Day

We got hit with a doozy yesterday in Alberta. I kept the twins home for a snow day and now it looks like we won't be going anywhere again today. For my deep south neighbours who say they miss the cold- you can have it! I like the cold and the snow, and I even LOVE a snow day or two, but when you're trapped indoors and a trip to get milk takes a couple of hours, it's not worth it. Forecasts say we have a whole week of this and temps will be around -20 all week with the windchill on top of it. Yuck. We were supposed to go out to cut down our Christmas tree tomorrow, but if this continues, I don't think that will happen.

So what does this mean for us? Well, Owen is quite content. He LOVES his computer and has been watching his video clips for the last hour on Zac Browser. He is currently OBSESSED with this particular video clip. Appropriate because we will finally be potty training over the Christmas break, so hopefully he's preparing himself.

"She's a super-duper pooper, she can potty with the rest. She's the best pooper we know!"

You must watch the whole thing. It's creepy. But it's also addictive. For Owen anyways. He has listened to this same vid at full volume, probably 200 times in the past two days. Now we're all singing it.

Are you a super duper pooper?

This week is going to be a long one.

Snow! We haven't seen any here yet (southern ohio) and I'm glad. I hate the cold weather.

I'll take some of the snow but you can keep the cold. I'm not quite ready for that yet.

It is a VERY creepy/frightening song. I suppose in many ways I'm lucky that owen can't talk and sing the song in public.

Hi Stacey, I don't envy that snowy weather you are getting. Here on the east coast they are calling for about 4 - 6 cm over the next couple days. Hopefully, not enough to trap me indoors for the week!

Super dooper pooper, indeed!

It's snowing here too! Although, so far we only have a few inches. And I have plenty of milk. So all is well!

Enjoy your snow days!

We had a little bit of snow on Saturday morning. Nothing like what you have. Yes, the video is creepy. My kids have never tried that site. I will check it out.

Oh, I just clicked on the Zac Browser link and saw that it is for kids with autism. Awesome! I haven't heard of it. I will pass that link around at work.

Geez, we have only had a few flurries, nothing that sticks. Here I am hoping that we get some in time for Santa and you are already buried! LOL

The funny thing is, that oppressive heat has the same result as tons of snow. Can't take little babies out of the house if they can wind up with heat stroke, just from getting strapped in the car. Which is seriously a problem here sometimes. A car that bakes in full sun while you are at the doctor's office in 110 degree weather is pretty hot, and if you decide to turn the car and the air on to cool down while you wait at the window, some nice policeman will write you a ticket for leaving a key in your vehicle. Sweet, right? Extreme weather is bad, no matter. I just find cold easier to deal with than heat. You can always add layers in the cold, but, you can only take off so much in the heat. BTW, it is 82here today.
